Implement and provide support for Microsoft endpoint management technologies across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-native Microsoft 365 services. Collaborate with leadership to assess organizational needs and establish priorities, ensuring effective support for current software and hardware utilized by the Company. A Senior Systems Engineer also provides mentorship to junior staff, leads troubleshooting efforts, and contributes to strategic technology planning.
Primary Responsibilities
- Architect, configure, deploy, and manage Windows and Linux servers, cloud platforms Azure, AWS), and hybrid environments.
- Lead infrastructure design sessions and produce detailed engineering documentation.
- Recommend and implement improvements for scalability, security, and performance.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS/DHCP, file and print services, and Azure active Directory.
- Manage virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Design, configure, and manage resources within Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Oversee storage systems (SAN, NAS) and backup/recovery solutions.
- Participate in technology road mapping and vendor selection to support infrastructure evolution.
- Automate infrastructure tasks using PowerShell, Terraform, ARM templates, and other tools.
- Ensure compliance with security, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and patch management.
- Collaborate with leadership on the annual System and Organization Controls Report (SOC) and Penetration Testing.
- Conduct regular disaster recovery (DR) tests and document outcomes.
- Lead infrastructure components of enterprise-wide IT projects (upgrades, migrations, new deployments).
- Enhance system monitoring and alerting using platforms like Splunk, Tenable or native cloud monitoring services.
- Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and reporting frameworks using native and third-party tools.
- Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure components including firewalls, VPNs, routers, switches, and load balancers.
- Implement and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies including SSO, MFA, and conditional access policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or 8+ years technical experience).
- 5–8 years of experience in systems engineering or equivalent technical roles.
- Deep experience with Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022), Active Directory, and cloud platforms (especially Azure).
- Strong expertise in virtualization, networking fundamentals, storage, and disaster recovery practices.
- Hands-on scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
